ARCHEOLOGY

I offer services in archeological reconnaissance, intensive surface survey, feature excavations, and archeological assessments. I specialize in backcountry public and private lands archeology—particularly areas that are typically outside the reach of research archeology, but can have the ability to make significant contributions to science.

I enjoy helping landowners connect to and protect their cultural resources which are a critical part of the land’s true value. Cultural resource assessments are also foundational for an interpretive framework for heritage- and eco-tourism.

Locational data for archeological resources are always kept confidential. However landowners are encouraged to share other site data through state site registration and publication options.

“Keller has played a principal role in documenting the (Big Bend) region’s nearly 12,000-year history. He’s excavated prehistoric sites where early inhabitants scraped out a living in the harsh desert, and he discovered evidence raising new questions about the massacre of residents of Mexican descent at the Texas border village of Porvenir in 1918.” - Texas Monthly
